About
Hey, I'm Chels.
I’m a UX/UI designer, visual artist, and performer based in Chicago, IL. Before I began my design career in 2021, I was a working actor and performer in Phoenix, AZ, Portland, OR, and finally, Chicago, IL, where I currently live. I’m an artist at heart, and actually almost studied visual art in Boston, before enrolling in Emerson College to study acting. If I’m not working, I’m probably writing, drawing, or learning a new craft (currently: sewing).
After the pandemic shut down most performance opportunities, I spent much of my time revisiting the things that brought me joy as a kid - I played a lot of video games, but I was also gifted a tablet and began teaching myself how to create art digitally. My increased screen time led me to UX and web design, and I suppose the rest is history.
As an active member of creative communities, inclusivity, diversity, and adaptability are essential values that I bring to my designs. I am constantly improving and growing as a designer, and a human, to create my best work.
