As a designer on the Dialogue Theory team, I worked closely with AtomicMind, a tutoring company that specializes in college admissions for high school students. In addition to designing a digital platform that connects students with their tutors, we also worked with them to develop their brand, and sub-brands, while improving their web presence.
Marketing site redesign (2021)
In 2021, I began design on an improved marketing site for AtomicMind based on conversations and research from Dialogue Theory’s ongoing relationship. Working with established logo and brand colors, this first iteration of AtomicMind’s site was very modern and editorial, as they had a specific audience they wanted to reach. This version was built using custom CMS templates in WordPress.

Discover+
Over the next 3 years, Dialogue Theory aided in AtomicMind’s marketing strategy as they began to expand their offerings to an online database of extracurricular activities, Discover+.

I worked closely with a Webflow developer to design not only the look and feel, but also user-friendly search and filter functionality for Discover+. We used Airtable so that the AtomicMind team could manage the extensive data they provided for each opportunity.

The visual design is clean, friendly, and appeals to both students and parents. We used the brand colors, but softened the design (literally) by leaning into curved edges and a uniform font.
QuantumKids
Next, we worked on the marketing site for QuantumKids, a specialized program for elementary-aged kids. As we began the design, we wanted to follow a similar visual direction as Discover+ to ensure cohesion of all of their sub-brands. AtomicMind’s concept for QuantumKids featured mascots for each school subject that would be taught during the program.

When designing the mascots, I knew they had to be appealing to kids and adults. Inclusivity and diversity is extremely important in the education space, so I avoided specific animals or making them overly-human.

The idea of something that is moldable and always changing and growing inspired “The Blobs.” While each subject has a specific blob, an infinite number of blobs can be created from combinations of different cartoon eyes and mouths. The blobs can be used for marketing material and, as the program grows, developed into physical items like stickers, plushes, or toys.
Marketing site redesign (2023-2024)
By the end of 2023, it was time to revisit the AtomicMind marketing page so that it matched the updated branding that we had been honing throughout the year.

Content was largely the same, but the challenge during this redesign was how to get people to the specific service they were looking for, while also advertising all that AtomicMind has to offer.

The AtomicMind team really liked the geometric line drawings used on the previous version, so I made sure those were still recognizable, but thought of other ways they could be incorporated. I leaned on the soft edges and use of cards to organize information while keeping the layout clean. The final design was built on Webflow and launched in April 2024.
